Ghost Town Blues Band

Ghost Town Blues Band

Beale Street’s latest success story, 2016 Independent Blues Award winner for "Best Contemporary Blues Song", 2015 Blues Blast Music Award Nominee for “Best Blues Band” and 2014 International Blues Challenge Runner-up is Ghost Town Blues Band. Not your grandpa’s blues band, their live show has been captivating audiences in the U.S. and Canada with a second-line horn entrance, cigar box guitars and electric push brooms to Allman Brothers style jams and even a hip-hop trombone player.

Horns, harmonies and homegrown instruments combined with an energetic and roots rich festival set makes Ghost Town Blues Band one of the “must see live bands on the festival circuit today.” Both Preston McEwen behind the drums and Matt Karner on the bass guitar are a punishing rhythm section behind multi-instrumentalist/frontman Matt Isbell with raunchy cigar box guitar licks and raspy "Dr. John-like, whiskey and gravel-soaked vocals." With the addition of Trombonist Suavo Jones, Tim Stanek on B3 and Taylor Orr on lead guitar, the grooves go from funky to "funk-nasty" as the band gains more notoriety in the blues festival and jam circuit. Ghost Town Blues Band performed all across North America at over 24 festivals in 2016 and already have 20 festivals and 5 international tours booked for 2017.

“GTBB shows what can happen when the past is distilled through young sensibilities, voices, and instruments. This is 21st century blues at its best.”   -Living Blues Magazine

Jack Rowell and the Royal Blues Band

Jack Rowell and the Royal Blues Band

Jack Rowell, Jr. is a blue-eyed, soulful blues singer with blazing guitar licks to match. Blues legend Albert King once said about Jack, “he…can flat sing and play the blues!” The band records at the legendary Royal recording studio in Memphis most recently releasing “Finger Lickin Blues by The Royal Blues Band featuring Jack Rowell Jr.” The band includes Jack (lead guitar and vocals), Bob Horn (guitar), Buddy Davis (guitar), Mark Ross (keyboard), Leo Goff Jr. (bass), and Bill Marshall (drums).

Jack began his professional career at the age of fifteen in The Debuts (“If I Cry”) with partner Jimi Jamison (Survivor). They were signed by Atlantic Records and toured nationally with The Buckinghams, Mitch Ryder and Roy Orbison. He has played and performed with many national artists as well as with Beale Street greats Joyce Cobb, Don McMinn, Reba Russell and many, many more.

In 2012, Jack released a hot blues CD entitled “Sleeping with the Blues,” with great original songs, wonderful vocals and hot musicianship by many of Jack’s great friends. “Sleeping with the Blues” was touted as one of the best CDs out of Memphis in quite a while, and helped Jack and the Band win several blues festival awards.

Recently, Jack, with his band, has hosted a Thursday night celebrity jam in Memphis (currently at Neil’s Music Room) where the best musicians from Memphis, the Mid-South and the world come together with friends and fans to spread World Boogie. World boogie is here and growing fast in Memphis with Jack Rowell & The Royal Blues Band leading the way!
